As a Pusser’s Rum fan for many years, I look forward to working with the brand.” He continues, “Our city is already justifiably famous for its world-class cuisine, great music, art, and fashion. Our month-long event is one more reason to celebrate the city of Charleston, South Carolina.” Blossom is owned by Hospitality Management Group and will serve as the official Headquarters for the Painkillers on the Peninsula event.
In discussing the event, Pusser’s Rum Marketing Director, Dean Cowart said “as a small player in the spirits business, we take pride in our ability to provide custom support for each venue selling our Rum. We feel Pusser’s Rum is the best available on the market, now it’s about building awareness and letting the product sell itself. The Painkillers on the Peninsula event is a great way to give thanks to all those who have been so welcoming.”
The Painkiller cocktail was created by Daphne Henderson, the proprietor and mixologist of the six-seat Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands. The cocktail is a delicious blend of pineapple juice, orange juice and cream of coconut – Pusser’s Rum is added, which punches through like no other rum. Finally, freshly grated nutmeg is added to top it off. Vacationers throughout the Caribbean have long acclaimed the cocktail for its smoothness and subtle power. A cocktail mix that lacks only the key ingredient of Pusser’s Rum was recently introduced to significant acclaim.
Pusser’s Rum is unique for its use of a handcrafted, wooden pot-still distillation process that provides a deep flavor far beyond that of mass-produced rums. It is made to the Admiralty’s specifications and was named “One of the ten best rums in the world” by Forbes Magazine. More recently Pusser’s Rums touts Double Gold Medals from the Rum Masters Competition in London (2013).
