Black Tot Day

On July 31, 1970, known as Black Tot Day, the Royal Navy ended its long-standing tradition of issuing a daily rum ration to sailors. Across the globe, on every Royal Navy vessel, glasses were raised for one final toast. This solemn moment saw many strong men shed tears as they bid farewell to a time-honored custom, marking the end of an era steeped in history and camaraderie.
