5 Super Simple and Delicious 2-Ingredient Rum Drinks

If one thing is certain, it's that our collective love of rum is stronger than ever. Last year rum drinkers around the globe guzzled more than $14 billion worth of the stuff, a figure set to grow larger in the years ahead.

Part of the reason why rum is so popular is its versatility and the simple fact that it tastes good on its own. Sweet, smoky, and smooth, you don't need to mess with rum to enjoy the taste.

That's why when making rum cocktails, it really is best to keep it simple. With these 2-ingredient rum drinks, you can enjoy the delicious simplicity of our favorite spirit without spending hours slaving over the minibar.

1. Cuba Libre

This highball style drink is one of the most popular and best rum cocktails in the world. Going strong for more than 100 years and counting, ever since a bored US Army captain concocted it on a military base in Havana in 1900, a Cuba Libre is refreshing, light, and screams party time.

Simply chuck in a shot or two of dark rum, fill the glass with coke, and chuck a wedge of lime on top. Voila!

2. Island Mule (aka Ginger Sea Dog)

If you're looking for dark rum cocktails that will always get the party going, a sweet and simple Island Mule is guaranteed to do the trick. This is a drink that has whet whistles around the world since 1806, so it must be doing something right.

Simply fill a glass with ice and then fill most of the glass with ginger beer. After this, you add a shot or two of Pusser's dark rum on top, as a 'float'. Add a lime wedge if you're feeling fancy.

3. Bermuda Rum Swizzle

The best thing about rum cocktail recipes is that you can make a full pitcher for all of your friends with just two or three ingredients. On a hot summer day, the Bermuda Rum Swizzle is just the tonic that you need. Grab your pitcher jug and pour in 8 ounces of rum.

After this, all you need to do is add a pineapple and orange juice mix to the rest of the jug. What's more, this cocktail can also be made using a 50/50 mix of white and dark rum, if you simply cannot choose between the two.

4. Rum and Tonic

We all know about the classic G&T, but it's no secret that many people find the flavor of gin a little bit offputting, owing to its innate bitterness.

You can remedy this by switching out the gin with a shot or two of white rum, creating white rum cocktails that have all of the class and elegance of a gin and tonic. Once you have added your rum, any tonic of your choosing will work well.

5. Watermelon Mojito

For a truly show-stopping cocktail that works just as well in the summer as it does in the winter, a colorful watermelon mojito will do the trick.

For this, all you need is your rum (white or dark works fine) and some fresh watermelon juice. If you're feeling a little extra, then some fresh mint leaves and agave nectar will give this drink a welcome added kick.

The Key Component for 2-Ingredient Rum Drinks

No matter which 2-ingredient rum drinks you choose, your cocktails will not be complete without some quality rum. To make the most out of your cocktail making ventures, you want a rum that is sweet, smooth, and just the right amount of smoky.

Fortunately, our aged Pusser's Rum offers exactly that.
