How to Make a Delicious Espresso Rumtini

The classic martini first made its appearance in the bartending manual in 1888

The martini has come a long way since then. People have made their own versions and over time, the espresso rumtini has become a popular option. If you've never made this espresso cocktail, you're missing out.

Don't worry, we are going to tell you everything you need to know so you can make this delicious drink at home. Keep reading so you know what ingredients you need the next time you go to the store.

History

It's not confirmed when the first espresso rumtini was invented. Dick Bradsell was a British bartender who is known for making unique cocktails that are now on menus across the world.

The Rumtini is a spin-off of Bradsell's espresso martini, which is widely loved by many.

Glassware and Garnish

You're going to use a coupe glass for this rum cocktail. Before you start making this drink, put your glasses in the freezer. This will ensure you have a crispy chilled drink.

Besides the taste, the best thing about an espresso rumtini is the garnish. Even if you're making this drink at home, don't skip this step. It won't affect much the taste, but it adds a flare to the cocktail.

You're going to add a little lemon zest and throw away the peel. Then top it with three espresso beans.

You can also experiment with the garnish and make it your own. If you don't have lemon zest, try adding cocoa powder.

Ingredients

You're going to brew 25mL of espresso; it makes a difference if it's fresh. You'll need 25mL of Pusser's Rum and coffee liqueur.

You'll add all these ingredients to a shaker with ice. Then shake and strain into your chilled glass.

You can also include a simple syrup if you want a little extra flavor. A little can go a long way when it comes to simple syrup, so you'll use about half the amount of the other ingredients.

Be sure to double the ingredients if you're making more than one drink. This coffee cocktail is going to have about 150 calories and it's going to be stronger than you expect. It's meant to be sipped and enjoyed slowly.

If you've never been a fan of martinis, this drink may be a game-changer for you. Despite being in the martini family, it's very different from your classic vodka martini.

Espresso Rumtini

Finding your go-to drink can take some time. You may have to try a few cocktails before you find one that you like the most.

The next time you're out getting drinks with friends or hosting a party, give the espresso rumtini a try. Your guests will have no idea it's so simple to make because it has a luxurious taste.

It's crucial that you have quality rum to make this drink.
