Bake Your Rum: 3 Rum Desserts for Rum Lovers

If you're a true rum lover, you don't just drink your rum, you eat it too. And what better way to eat you rum than in some desserts?

Do you love rum? This sweet liquor is great in Piña Coladas, mixed with coke, and even infused in desserts. For those with a sweet tooth, rum desserts are the perfect mix of liquor and sugar.

For delicious rum desserts, these three recipes make for the perfect sweet treats. Whether you're hosting a party, treating a dinner date, or having dessert for one, these are sure to hit the spot.

1. Southern Comfort Bananas Foster

With warm banana bread, vanilla ice cream, and a sweet splash of rum, what could be better? This bananas foster dessert is mouthwatering and simple to make.

For this recipe you'll need:

  • Rum
  • Butter
  • Brown sugar
  • Vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon
  • Bananas
  • Walnuts or pecans
  • French vanilla ice cream
  • Heavy cream (optional)

First, melt your butter and stir in vanilla extract, cinnamon, sugar, and rum. Depending on how strong you want your dessert, feel free to add more liquor. Once these items are bubbling with heat and mixed well, add sliced bananas and walnuts.

Be sure not to overcook your bananas foster. We recommend cooking on a low to medium heat for three minutes. Once your mixture is hot, pour over some rich French vanilla ice cream.

For added richness, add heavy cream to the mix. This recipe is also delicious over crepes, french toast, or waffles.

2. Classic Rum and Coke Cakes

As rum's best friend, coke makes for a delicious, sweet, classic drink. For delicious rum-based desserts, these rum and coke cakes are to die for.

For small party favors, cut the cakes into small cubes. For a larger serving, leave the cake intact. For the frosting, mix vanilla extract, cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and Pusser's Rum.
