Pusser’s Rum Introduces Pusser’s Painkiller® Cocktail Mix
Charleston, South Carolina March 25, 2013 - Pusser’s Rum, the premium blend of fine dark rums from Guyana and Trinidad much beloved by sailors, Caribbean tourists and connoisseurs of fine spirits everywhere, is proud to announce the introduction of Pusser’s Painkiller® Cocktail Mix.
Lacking only the key ingredient of Pusser’s Rum, the non-alcoholic mix features the popular blend of pineapple juice, orange juice and coconut flavoring first devised by Daphne Henderson. Henderson, the English proprietor and mixologist of the six-seat Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands, introduced the Pusser’s Painkiller to vacationers who praised it for its smoothness and subtle power. She later shared the cocktail, but not its recipe, with Pusser’s founder Charles Tobias. Tobias later painstakingly duplicated the recipe, although he always credits Henderson for its creation.
The transition of the cocktail’s ingredients to an easy-to-use mix, spurred by requests of those who had sampled it, soon became inevitable. Pusser’s Painkiller mix brings with it the advantages of convenience, no waste, less preparation time, consistent flavor and shelf-stability. The product should be refrigerated after opening.
Pusser’s Painkiller mix is packaged in 1 liter (33.81 ounce) bottles. Individual bottles or 12 pack cases may be purchased here.
Dean Cowart, Marketing Director for Pusser’s Rum, comments “We’re very excited that Pusser’s Painkiller is now available as a mix. Our distributors are ordering it by the caseload.” Cowart continues, “Although there are other concoctions and cocktails, there is only one Pusser’s Painkiller. As we always say, ‘Use the mix and save the pain.’”
